- 1) Connect the circulation pump outlet to the low-point HX connection.
- 2) Connect the circulation pump inlet to the high-point HX connection.
- 3) Circulate fresh water to confirm integrity of all joints.
- 4) Direct HX oulet hose to a suitable sanitary drain.
- 5) Begin adding SDS+RTD to recirculation tank and injecting to the HX via the low-point connection.
- 6) As the SDS+RTD is being injected into the HX, allow the displaced water to exit it via the high-point hose connection to sanity sewer.
- 7) When the requisite volume of SDS+RTD has been injected, turn off the circulation pump and reconnect the HX outlet hose to the recirculation tank.
- 8) Draw an initial sample of SDS+RTD from the recirculation tank for a baseline TUMS test.
- 9) Monitor recirculation tank for excessive foaming. Add a few ounces of Foam-EX defoamer to tank as needed to supress foaming.
- 10) Continuousl monitor the HX vessel for leaks.
- 11) Draw and test a TUMS sample after each hour of circulation.
- 12) Terminate circulation when the sample no longer dissolves a TUMS tablet (no observable reactivity), or when the TUMS dissolve period exceeds three (3) times the baseline period.
